Trail to Eagle
Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. A Scout who attains this rank is called an Eagle Scout or Eagle. Since its introduction in 1911, the Eagle Scout rank has been earned by more than 2 million young men. The title of Eagle Scout is held for life, thus giving rise to the phrase “Once an Eagle, always an Eagle.”
Requirements include earning at least 21 merit badges and demonstrating Scout Spirit through the Boy Scout Oath and Law, service, and leadership. This includes an extensive service project that the Scout plans, organizes, leads, and manages. Eagle Scouts are presented with a medal and a badge that visibly recognizes the accomplishments of the Scout. Additional recognition can be earned through Eagle Palms, awarded for completing additional tenure, leadership, and merit badge requirements.
Eagle Scout Class of 2023
The Eagle Celebration is a unique recognition event honoring the 116 youth who achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, Scouting’s highest achievement, during 2023 in the Buckeye Council. This on-demand, digitally delivered experience features a 25 minute show recognizing the entire class, the Eagle Project of the Year, guest speaker message from Justice Joseph T. Deters, and highlights of the Buckeye Council.
Eagle Scout Project Advisors
What is an Eagle Project Advisor? An Eagle Project Advisor (or coach) is an adult leader, often affiliated with your scouting district, who regularly advises scouts on their Eagle service projects. The role of an Eagle Project Advisor is not to create requirements or dictate the scope of the project, but to provide guidance to a scout throughout their Eagle Project’s planning and execution process.
