Astronaut Akela has crash landed in Schoolhouse Pond after his ship's navigation system failed! Unfamiliar with our solar system, he needs your help to read the stars and chart a course home.
Cub Scout Summer Camp gives you the opportunity to shoot BB guns, tie knots, and explore the wonders of nature! Cub Scout Summer Camp is open to ALL Cub Scouts (Lions-Arrow of Light Scouts) and their parents. This program offers a great blend of educational and recreational opportunities for Cub Scouts and their parents. It's a memorable multi-day/night camp of thrilling and adventurous activities that keep campers excited for months after the closing campfire. Bring your whole pack, your whole den, or your family to Cub Scout Summer Camp!
All Lion, Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Scouts must have a parent attend alongside their Scout. Webelos are encouraged to attend as a den with 4-5 leaders alongside the Scouts. If your Webelos den is not attending as a group, register your Scout and an adult for camp!
Open to All Cub Scouts
All Cub Scouts (Lions through Arrow of Light Scouts) are invited to attend Cub Scout Summer Camp! All Lion, Tiger, Wolf, and Bear scouts must attend alongside a parent or guardian. All Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts (4th and 5th graders) do not have to attend alongside a parent or guardian as long as the den or pack is participating in camp as a group with at least 2 registered leaders.
Easier Than Ever for Parents to Attend
It’s easier than ever to attend Cub Scout Summer Camp with your child! Cub Scout parents or legal guardians attending Cub Scout Summer Camp with their own child or legal ward are not required to register as leaders. All adults must review the “How to Protect your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide” that can be found in the front of each Cub Scout Handbook and complete a form acknowledging they have done so.
Medical Form Details
Both youth and adults attending camp must complete the BSA Medical form parts A and B, only. Upon arrival at camp, a medical check will be conducted, and the medical form will be reviewed.
New Shower House at Camp Akela
In May of 2024, the shower house and restroom facility at Camp Akela along with 5 others across Seven Ranges Scout Reservation will be completely renovated. Each new facility will feature single-entry, private rooms that include a shower, toilet, sink, and bench. These upgrades are designed to improve the overall camp experiences for all participants. The Buckeye Council Board of Directors and Executive Team have successfully secured 100% of the funding for these projects and are excited to bring these new features to you!
More Adventures to Earn
Due to the changes in the Cub Scout Advancement Program, scouts will be able to earn more advancement than ever before at Cub Scout Summer Camp! There is an adventure for swimming, fishing, shooting sports, and camping for each level of Cub Scouting.
In addition, all Wolves through Webelos will be able to earn the Out of this World NOVA Award at Cub Scout Summer Camp!
