Fall Roundups

Although we just finished the spring season, over the summer we would like you to begin thinking about when you would like to do your fall roundups. At the August Roundtable Kickoff we are going to be asking ever pack to supply us with a few dates that would work for a fall roundup. Please keep this in consideration so that the fall recruiting will go smooth.

Friends of Scouting

Friends of Scouting (FOS) is an essential part of the growth and program of the Boy Scouts of America. Not only do we want to allow those in the community to give to the Boy Scouts, but we want parents and families already in the scouting program to be able to share in the bigger picture of scouting.

Monies raised by FOS directly support the growth of scouting in all six counties of Buckeye Council, and the camp programs put on by Buckeye Council. Without this fundraising effort Buckeye Council would not be able to hold the excellent camping and support it does (you’d be hard pressed to find a finer camp than Seven Ranges summer camp).

With the Blue and Gold and Court of Honor season winding down, please keep the districts Friends of Scouting (FOS) Family Campaign goal in mind. Killbuck’s Family FOS goal is $25,000. Currently we’re at half that, and still need continued support.

If you have families that didn’t have the opportunity to give at your presentations please let us know, or ask them to contribute to the Friends of Scouting campaign.

You may contact Tony Scarpino or Craig Reynolds to set up your family presenter.

Public Relations

Having good press in the community is important for scouting. We want people to read about the positive influence scouting has in the lives of our youth. This past month there have been several good articles in the papers pertaining to scouting, and it’s refreshing to see them.

If you have an event or outing you would like to try and publicize, feel free to contact JoAnne Page and give her information pertaining to the event, and any pictures you may have. She is more than happy to write a short article and contact the paper for publication.
