103 scouts came out the
weekend of April 11-13th to try to earn their Wilderness
Survival merit badge. Leading the charge was Jack Smith and Troop 935
who helped to organize this great event.
Friday started out with
a euchre Tournament and Cracker barrel (mixed with a couple flashes of
lightning). Saturday Morning opened the day with scouts roaming Camp
Buckeye moving from station to station to earn the various points of the
merit badge. In the afternoon, the boys started building their emergency
shelters and the adults made chili for a chili cook off held later that
night.
Friday evening was
packed with a campfire and First Class in the First year recognition
followed by order of the Arrow Call outs.
Camp
Buckeye holds a lot of Westark History and was the birthplace of the
current Sipp-o Lodge.
Thanks to the following
units for their participation
257, 250, 915, 916,
