Roundtable

ATTENTION ALL SENECA DISTRICT VOLUNTEERS!!!

Whether you are in a Pack, Troop, Venture Crew, Explorer Post, a Commissioner, Member at Large, or just someone who’s interested in Scouting, you are invited to our Seneca District Roundtable Meeting.

Roundtable is always the second Wednesday of every month at Faith United Methodist Church (300 9th Street NW in North Canton).  This Event runs from 7:00pm until approximately 8:15pm.  If you want some fresh ideas on crafts, games, songs, ceremonies, and tips on how to make your meetings smoother, faster, fresher and more fun – then you should be at Roundtable.  It offers that supplemental training that all Scout leaders can use to offer the greatest program possible to the boys.  We’ve really been missing representation from several units on these nights.  Those units that attend regularly are generally the ones that thrive the most!!!  If you could have a Representative from your Unit Attend.

See you all there Wednesday,

Andrea Mirzakhani Fund

We have had a special request to have information placed in this month’s newsletter.

Andrea Mirzakhani was a den leader at John Knox Presbyterian Church back in the early 90’s for a couple of years.  With her caring ways, she began a path for many young boys to start a journey in scouting.  It is a fact that two boys from her den have gone on to achieve their Eagle Scout Rank.

Andrea’s husband, Ali, was diagnosed with a brain tumor five years ago.  Their son, Daniel, dropped out of college to come home and help.  Ali developed leukemia from the chemo and radiation.  He is now undergoing more chemotherapy.  Daniel is back in college now and hopefully will be able to finish.  However, recently Andrea has also been diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Their daughter, Hannah, is a freshman at Hiram College.  With both parents now unable to work, it will be very hard on the family.

Daniel set up a family fund through Huntington bank, labeled “The Andrea Mirzakhani Fund.  Donations can be made at any Huntington Bank branch, as long as the money is accompanied by a note saying that it should be deposited into said account.

If anyone feels that they want to offer any other help besides a monetary donation, they can speak with Barb Stanley (Daniel’s aunt), who is handling this aspect of things.  She can be reached at 330-499-1830.

Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
