Cub Leader Training
As a new leader into the cub unit, you have the kids, the book and an idea of how it should work. Instead of going through the trial and error of putting together the den meeting agenda, come to one of the Cub Leader Training sessions offered at your local district. At the session, you will learn what to expect, where to get ideas, receive resource lists from seasoned leaders and much more. Each child deserves to have a trained leader working to ensure the success of the pack and den.
Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)
BALOO shows leaders and parents new to the outdoors methods and ideas to run an awesome camping experience and/or outdoor activity for Cub Scouts. Learn how to cook meals and snacks outdoors, basic first aid, basic nature identification (poison ivy!), campsite selection and set-up, group games, and much, much more. BALOO is basic outdoor training and is required for any overnight camping activity for Cub Scouts.
Outdoor Webelos Leader Skills (OWLS)
OWLS is learning by doing and our goal is to provide leaders hands on methods and skills to assist in advancement and to better prepare their Webelos for the adventure of Boy Scouting. This is more advanced outdoor training than BALOO and focuses more on skills that will help your boys enjoy their camping experience and their transition to Boy Scouts. Learn to teach fire building & safety, campsite set-up, first aid, cooking and nature skills for the Outdoor Activity Pin group, and much, much more.
