Important Information about Seven Ranges Summer Camp 2023

The value of the annual summer camp experience is something that each of us know well. It is a value that only grows over time as fun moments become fond memories cherished for a lifetime. We also understand the value this experience represents for families and units as they select what programs and activities their scouts will participate in.

Summer camp fees to attend Seven Ranges Scout Reservation in 2023 are rising significantly. The same increased cost of goods we are experiencing in our daily lives will also impact the supplies and resources necessary to deliver the program. Summer camp at Seven Ranges will remain the least expensive in our area for those who pay in full prior to 4/1/23. Its value will continue to last a lifetime.

Registration for all Buckeye Council summer camp programs at Seven Ranges Scout Reservation is now open!

SCOUT SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION NOTES

2023 Scouts BSA Summer Camp fees are based on when full payment is received. Our traditional Early Bird Discount no longer exists. Adult pricing is now full week, or partial week (Sun-Wed or Wed-Sat). When registering youth for certain merit badges, an associated program fee will be added to the troop’s camp registration fees. For example, youth participating in Shotgun Merit Badge will owe $10 for ammunition and targets. All registrations require a $50 non-refundable deposit.

  • The unit leader registers all youth and adults for summer camp. For example, youth must pay their fees to the troop leadership, and then the troop registers and pays for the youth. Participants do not register directly with the Buckeye Council, unless they are a scout registering to be a part of the provisional troop.
  • Webelos Crossovers should be registered as a Webelos Crossover, instead of Youth, to receive the $10 discount.

CUB SCOUT SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION NOTES

2023 Cub Scout Summer Camp fees are based on when a $30 non-refundable deposit is received. Participants can register for camp with either method:

  • UNIT REGISTERS PARTICIPANTS: The unit leader registers all youth and adults for Cub Scout Summer Camp. For example, youth must pay their fees to the pack leadership, and then the pack registers and pays for the youth.
  • PARTICIPANTS REGISTER DIRECTLY WITH THE BUCKEYE COUNCIL: Participants register directly with the Buckeye Council through the website.

PREPARING FOR CAMP

Bringing your troop to a week at Seven Ranges will be an unforgettable adventure. The best experience requires months of advanced planning and preparation. Please review this section in detail so that you and your Scouts arrive ready to hit the trail.

Key things to consider when preparing:

  • Merit badge registration is conducted based on the week you are attending camp. Week 1 participants register for merit badges on 4/15, Week 2 on 4/22, etc. When registering youth for certain merit badges, an associated program fee will be added to the troop’s camp registration fees. For example, youth participating in Shotgun Merit Badge will owe $10 for ammunition and targets. No youth will be permitted to participate in the Merit Badge Program, Pipestone, or other camp events without providing date of birth and current emergency contact info including an email in the registration system. Please do not wait until merit badge registration day to update this information!
  • Merit Badge Registration Dates
    • Week 1                April 15
    • Week 2                April 22
    • Week 3                April 29
    • Week 4                May 6
    • Week 5                May 13
    • Week 6/7             May 20

  • Camp fees are based on when full payment is received. Save more by registering early and making full payment.

  • Unique traditions, including dining hall procedures and our camp honors program, set Seven Ranges Scout Reservation apart from other summer camps. Most requirements for camp honors must be completed in advance including collecting Pipestone wood, attending Good Turn Weekends, and various advancement-related activities. The specific requirements can be found later in this guide.
